We stayed at Patcham Place inJanuary and returned in March because we loved our stay. And what a pleasant surprise that Patcham Place now has a new ownership that has raised the standard even further. The B&B and the location is still the best possible in Clarens. Now the rooms are nicely renovated and the breakfast is fantastic, absolutly the best ever. And the service level of the hosts is amazing. Highly recommended.

The location was excellent. Close enough for a quick walk in to the center of Clarens but far enough away not to be disturbed by the all the hustle and bustle. Johan and Tim were excellent hosts and breakfast was always a real treat! Yummy food, excellent views and attention to detail! Would love to visit again soon.

Reception by the new hosts was more than friendly and very personal. Rooms very nicely decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, great setting outdoors on the deck, including binoculars to watch the hikers up in the mountain!

Owners Johan & Tim went out of their way to make it an amazing stay for us. Most incredible breakfast, and the rooms have just been redone & are really fantastic!

The attention to detail by our hosts, the peaceful, quiet location, and great view. Johan and Tim were also very helpful in making dinner reservations and advising on things to see and do.

We recently booked 2 rooms for 2 nights here and were very pleased with our choice to stay over here. It was one of the more reasonably priced places, given the fact that there was a cycling race taking place in Clarens that weekend and places were booked. In terms of conditions and reception as guests, our experience was 5 star to say the least. The place was very clean and neat at our arrival and was kept this way for the duration of our stay. We furthermore had a balcony view over the mountain, which is indeed special as Clarens is a beautiful place. The room and bathroom were spacious and equipped with an aircon, Nespresso coffee machine and bullets, etc. It also had a small fridge and umbrellas. One thing that stood out for me was the emphasis on quality in every aspect. The host really got things right. As for the hospitality of the host, we simply can not fault it. They were naturally friendly and pleasant and made every attempt to be of best service to us. We were very impressed. Breakfast was included and again very well done. In my travels, this is a place I rank high among many places I stayed in over the years and sincerely recommend it to others.

A beautiful and charming guest house with wonderful facilities. There are so many nice additions such as the coffee machine, bathroom additions. Everywhere you look has something beautiful. The property is amazing but the wonderful hosts Tim and Johan are the best. The serve a wonderful breakfast, have thought of everything and are just all round great guys. I won’t be staying anywhere else!

One of the best guesthouses we have ever stayed. The facilities were great, very nice bedding with crisp sheets and duvet. Balcony and room with beautiful view of the mountain. Room has got lots of extra touches that made our stay special The breakfast was exquisite and delicious with yoghurt, different fresh fruits hams cheeses etc. We did not even get to the warm breakfast! Can definitely recommend the guest house to anyone! Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return. Very good location as well and walking distance to all restaurants.

This is an awesome place, really everything is very very good! The bed is very comfortable , the breakfast is far more than you can believe, the decoration in the room is so nice. Everything is there what you need and the staff is so friendly, serving and gave us good tips!

The proximity to town balanced by the quietness of not being directly in town made the position of this B&B perfect. Beautiful mountain views from our room as well as all the luxuries of a hotel. We had a massive cloud of a bed (seriously struggled to get out of it, it was that comfy) with pristine, crisp clean white linen. Spacious room with a large TV. Big beautiful bathroom. The breakfasts were exceptional and the hosts Johan and Tim were warm and welcoming.

We had an incredible stay at Patchem Place Clarens, thanks to Johan and Tim who were exceptional hosts. They made our time in Clarens truly unforgettable. The room was superbly equipped with everything we could possibly need, and Tim's breakfasts were a delightful highlight - his omelettes are not to be missed! The location is perfect for hiking, with well-marked trails right from the house leading into the mountains, offering options for both leisurely walks and more challenging hikes. Johan's recommendations for local restaurants and attractions were spot on, enhancing our experience of the town. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to Clarens and reconnecting with Johan and Tim. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our trip exceptional.

Everything! Absolutely everything! The cherry on top was definitely the breakfast cooked up by Tim. Our hosts were incredible and we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality, laughs and local knowledge and advise.

De B&B heeft een prachtig uitzicht vanuit de slaapkamer en de eetkamer. De ruime, luxe slaapkamer heeft een heerlijk bed waarin je helemaal tot rust komt. Het ontbijt is super uitgebreid, goed verzorgd en gevarieerd (zelfs aan de vegetariërs wordt gedacht). We werden enorm warm ontvangen door Johan en Tim. Na aankomst kregen we tips over wat er te zien en te doen is in Clarens en kregen we goede suggesties voor het avondeten. Al met al was het een prachtige B&B, op een perfecte locatie, met super hosts. Zeker aan te raden!

The food was amazing. I commented about food on pictures during my booking that they look appetising. Guess what?? You went way beyond my expectations. We really enjoyed the breakfast. We even skipped lunch because we were still full and satisfied.

There is nothing I didn’t like. Your friendliness is heartwarming, who wouldn’t like to be treated like the only guest in the premises.

The views are extraordinary, and the location is walking distance from town Square, so there is little to no driving required once you've arrived. The service from Johan & Tim is nothing short of exquisite! We felt right at home. Breakfast is catered for every day, with a gorgeous spread of fruits, yogurt & sweet treats, followed by a hot breakfast that is made up of whatever you desire on the day (omlettes, a full English breakfast, scrambled eggs- you name it) The room is cleaned every day, the bed & pillows were comfortable, and the AC worked like a bomb, especially in the cold weather. Every expectation was met on this little getaway of ours, & we would definitely come back. (You actually feel so sad leaving this beautiful quaint town:()

Johan and Tim are exceptional hosts and will make you feel like royalty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was incredible value for money. The breakfasts were extravagant with a variety of fresh fruits, cold meats and cheeses, a side of fruity nut yoghurt, along with a choice of Tim's mouthwatering cheesy omelette special which will keep you satisfied until dinner time! Apart form the fancy and fabulous breakfasts, the accommodation is warm, clean, cosy and homely. I would highly recommended Patcham Place as it will make your stay in Clarens extra special!

Everything. Comfort, cleanliness, attention to detail was outstanding. Bedrooms furnished with quality and style. Balcony with table and chairs. Mountain views. Satellite tv and wifi in rooms. Breakfast was unbeatable as were the hosts Johan and Tim. Great location with a few minutes' walk to the town square surrounded with restaurants, bars, shops etc. Safe parking.

The hosts are extremely friendly. The rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated and have a modern bathroom. From the balcony you have a nice view of the mountains. The breakfast is also exceptional and served with a lot of love. You can reach restaurants or cafes within walking distance. It was one of the best B&B we have ever experienced. Where do we start - from the moment we arrived, our hosts were there to welcome us and show us to our accommodation, which was exceptional. They thought of everything down to sherry for the chilly evenings, coffee machine with loaded pods, rusks to go with the delicious coffee, and not forgetting the nougat for a sweet treat. The room was spacious, warm, comfortable, immaculate and tastefully furnished. Our breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious, and we were waited on by our hosts, who, in our opinion prepared the best breakfast - Masterchef style. We thoroughly enjoyed the calm, peaceful, and relaxing stay and highly recommend this 5 🌟 experience in our view.

These guys have gone above and beyond to give a 5-star experience in the quaint town of Clarens. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with welcoming smiles calling you by name. The rooms smell great and these guys have paid extra attention to interior design details that are rivalled by only some of the top global hotels. We had a beautiful stay at the adjacent house they have from the main B&B. Super friendly owners gave us lots of great tips of restaurants in the area. The house is spotless. It’s the perfect spot for a longer stay to relax. Has beautiful Mountain View’s in the back terrace, but at the same time a short walk from the main square.

Thank you Johan & Tim for taking exceptional care of us. One of the best B&B’s in the country. If you’re visiting Clarens this is a must. The quality standards exceeded our expectations. When we visit Clarens again Patcham Place is the place for us. Well done.

Wow, wow, wow! Such incredible hospitality right in the heart of Clarens. Johan and Tim's attention to luxurious detail was exquisite, the novel breakfast tier was ample and scrumptious and the room I got was thoughtfully decorated to the highest standard, with the most eye-catching (and comfortable) head-board creating a sense of amazing spaciousness in addition to the stunning mountain view. I will most definitely be back when next I pass through, hopefully to enjoy the garden suite next!

We appreciated the attention to detail in the room. The quality of everything was of the highest standard and very tastefully set out.

The breakfast the next morning was in such an exquisite setting and the three-tiered tray with goodies was just a very special touch. Once again the quality of the crockery and cutlery was excellent and the food was equally great!

What a little gem of a place. From a very warm welcome to a warm goodbye. We had a comfortable stay. Bed was extremely comfy, the room well equipped. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING. We will be sure to visit again in the future.

Johan and Tim provided a personalized experience that made the difference between our stay being just another weekend break and an awesome getaway from the stresses of life.

The view from the deck while eating breakfast is great and makes one feel like you are really far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such friendliness, that we knew this was going to be a great stay. The breakfast was absolutely divine, for a moment there I thought that Tim was a renowned chef with the way he plated our breakfast and how delicious it was, but he insists he's not he just loves playing around with food!! If you want to call that playing around Tim. :) The dining area was gorgeous, the rooms were beautiful, clean and soooo comfortable. Great breakaway for couples. Tim and Johan are great hosts, with immense attention to detail. Patcham Place is just off main square, making everything within walking distance but quiet and restful. Hosts' knowledge of area is added advantage to ensure you make the most of your visit.

The delightful owners succeed in setting a standard for the immaculate and tasteful rooms and bespoke breakfasts that one would associate with European boutique hotels. The ambience is stylish, but casual and friendly and the location is perfect - walking distance to the centre of town and restaurants as well as the really beautiful Clarence Valley Conservancy walks. Highly recommended!
